A LONG BORING PARAGRAPH ABOUT MYSELF
It was a year in the 90s, when I was a kid.
We were having lunch, as my mom was scraping the burnt rice from the bottom of the rice pot. She gave me the big spoon sticking with burnt rice, so I could pretend it was "r-ice cream" and eat off.
My family were talking about dreaming and reality. I remember asking mom, so am I dreaming? How can I be sure this lunch is reality and not a dream. My mom laughed it off. "Yea, you're dreaming of eating ice-cream".
Somehow that memory sticks to me. Are we all dreaming of some sort? Sometimes I walk around awake and feel like dreaming. Sometimes I sleep but feel so awake, to the point I once actually solved maths in my dream.
Regardless, the grey zone between reality and dreams seems to be the place I was constantly looking for. To take solace in. To breathe. To be sad and be happy. To be all these emotions at once. To connect with the overwhelming mess out there.
That is, until I find art.
I find that grey zone where I want to get lost in, to find myself.
